Service quality has a special place among the core values of the Welfare Council. In addition to providing social services, we also uphold comprehensive quality management to meet the expectations of our service users to the best of our ability. This is why in 1996, we began our “Quality Journey”.

 

The Council’s Quality Journey team is led by an experienced director who executes quality management both within and beyond the organisation. While the department designs and puts together staff training programmes and task forces to improve the quality of services at various service units and departments, it also offers professional consultancy services on quality management. The department is also responsible for the successful accreditation and commendation of the Council’s service units – among them, the H.K.S.K.H. Li Ka Shing Care & Attention Home for the Elderly was the first elderly home to be accredited the ISO9001 certification by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency.

 

To widen the application of the Council’s Quality Management scheme, the team builds customised quality management training programmes and consultancy services for social service organisations in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Macau on the ISO9001:2008, environmental control and occupational safety, among others, bringing to fruition the effectiveness of quality management.
