Short-term Food Assistance Service - Blessed Food

“Blessed Food” was born when the Welfare Council saw a surge in the demand for food assistance during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, which hit Hong Kong, hard. After local authorities gave Blessed Food the green light, in 2009, it began providing assistance to residents of Tuen Mun with the help of government subsidies. It also worked with various Sheng Kung Hui groups and social welfare agencies to raise funds and resources to help establish a comprehensive service network.
Features
Blessed Food supplies food to persons affected by sudden crises for no more than eight weeks at a time. This helps them get back on their feet while they enjoy varied, nutritionist-approved food, including rice, fruit, hot food, baby food, canned goods and even food that suit special dietary requirements. On top of offering food assistance, Blessed Food also hosts regular events that encourage individuals and families to live life to the full.
Not every mother can afford to feed her child. Not every man can afford to feed himself. Extend your kindness to these individuals through Blessed Food today.

- Street sleepers
- Low-income workers
- Person encountering sudden change or family facing immediate financial hardship, e.g. the death of the sole breadwinner, bankruptcy etc.;
- Others
- Note: Our services are reserved for the abovementioned individuals/groups, with the exception of asylum seekers and illegal immigrants.
Application Procedure
Please complete the “Application Form” and present the identity proof, residential proof of the previous 2 months, income proof and the asset proof of the previous 6 months (including the one of bread-winner) of the applicant, the applicant’s family members to the assessor to assess the eligibility for the service.
