Since 1995, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council implemented “Walking Together Through the HKCEE Journey,” supporting tens of thousands of students and their parents in managing exam stress and planning future pathways. In response to the new senior-secondary curriculum, the Welfare Council formally launched the Career Counselling Services in 2010 to provide adolescents with timely, individualized career-planning support and to help them explore and define their life goals.

Started from 2019, with funding from the Home Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission, the service collaborated with secondary schools across all Hong Kong districts to deliver coherent and holistic career-development activities tailored to each campus’s needs. Programs include mock announcement of results, self-awareness workshops, industry and career visits, experiential life-simulation exercises, interview-preparation workshops, career-planning camps, training cohorts for further-education and employment advisors, and one-to-one consultations, all designed to expand students’ experience in career planning.

Every year, the service organizes various activities related to result announcement support measures for students including student-needs survey conference, mock results announcement for parents, mobile support stations hosted by trained counsellors, and a dedicated hotline for students and families. Through these multifaceted programs, the service is aimed at delivering the most comprehensive career-development support and establishing an empowering support network for every student and their family.

The rising cases of youth mental health problems are alarming, while youth mental health needs are evolving quickly with the fast-changing technology and social environments. Young people however are found not knowing how to seek help due to different reasons. In view of this, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust initiated to launch the " JC LevelMind" in cross-sectoral collaboration with non-governmental organisations and The University of Hong Kong.

The three-year “JC LevelMind @ Community” project addresses the unique mental health needs of youths aged 12 to 24 by creating a stigma-free and youth-friendly mental wellness service model. A total of 45 "LevelMind" hubs have been established throughout the city to enhance cognitive resources, personal strengths, and overall mental wellness. The initiative aims to identify early distress signals, implement timely interventions, and encourage positive help-seeking behaviors among young people.

Additionally, the project offers mental health screenings in schools, facilitating the early identification of students with emotional needs and ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up support and interventions.
