The young volunteers Kaden, Kin Hei and Paktin shared their thoughts on homework tutoring for children from grassroots families, “At first, I thought tutoring primary school students was about teaching the basics; then I realised the students knew most of their homework, and that it was more important to focus on supplementary exercises. I learned how to offer homework help so the children would listen, and I also developed better patience.”

"Thank you for guiding me through different challenges. I will always remember what you told me, that as long as I'm willing to seek help, I will find help. That made me feel hopeful, and loved." a note from the service user Zhang Xiao Yi.

H.K.S.K.H. Youth Employment Integrated Service Centre widens my eyesight on coffee making. The “characteristics” of coffee beans can be differentiated by their origins or making process. Even the same coffee bean, it could have different tastes due to water temperature, grinding, or the barista skills. “Latte Art” reminded me the idiom of “practice makes it perfect”. The Coffee making course includes “personal attributes” topic to prepare us for the job interviews.

“Thanks to the companionship and guidance of social workers and teachers, I’ve learned and matured a lot beyond dance. I went from being self-conscious to being able to speak openly and inviting my parents to watch me perform. I went from being directionless, to a dancer who desires to give their all on the path to excellence.” a note from a grateful service user Mr Chan Tin Ming.
