Child Care Centres and Nursery Schools

The Welfare Council runs two independent, subsidised Child Care Centres that serve infants and toddlers aged 0 to 3, providing 162 long full-day places. In partnership with St. Simon's Social Service Centre, it also operates six Nursery Schools that serve children aged 2 to 6, offering 596 long full-day places.

Each of our service units is founded on the Christian faith and is committed to the vision of "Building joyful, confident, kind, and healthy children in the love of Christ". We implement an "Inspiration • Exploration • EduCare (IEEC)" curriculum that inspires children's potential through diverse exploratory activities, promotes interest-based exploratory learning, and provides high-quality teaching and care services. This approach nurtures the holistic development of children across moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual domains. For more details, please click here.

Stroke Rehabilitation Fund

The first six months following a stroke are the golden period for rehabilitation; however, social support is often insufficient and medical expenses are high. In 2015, the Welfare Council established the "Sheng Kung Hui Stroke Rehabilitation Charity Fund" to subsidise post-discharge rehabilitation treatment for low-income stroke survivors. The fund helps them to seize this critical opportunity to restore their physical functions and return to their normal lives as soon as possible. For more details, please click here.

長者自資院舍及社區照顧服務券

The Welfare Council operates two self-financing residential care homes for the elderly: the Cyril and Amy Cheung Aged Care Complex (CAC) and Yan Yu Hin, which is located within the Tseung Kwan O Aged Care Complex.

The Council also participates in the "Community Care Service Voucher Scheme for the Elderly". This scheme uses a "co-payment" subsidised model, allowing eligible elderly persons to choose community care services that suit their needs, thereby supporting the concept of "ageing in place". The service covers the Central and Western, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, and Sha Tin districts, offering three service modes: centre-based, home-based, and a mixed mode.
